Cultural Amenities

The cultural institutions of Downtown West Palm Beach have helped to identify the community. More than $300 million dollars have been invested, pledged, and planned for the many cultural organizations of Palm Beach county, including the Kravis Center, the Florida Science Museum, and many more. These investments have also helped renovate the 1916 county courthouse, making it Palm Beach County’s first major history museum.

Downtown Features

History Museum / Restored Courthouse
The Historic 1916 Court House was the first courthouse constructed in West Palm Beach. Following several decades of change to both its footprint and façade, the building underwent a complete restoration and re-opened to the public in 2008. The Court House is a remarkable destination housing the turn of the century Court Room restored to its original architectural details, as well as the Richard and Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum, operated and maintained by the Historical Society of Palm Beach County.
